The best way to prevent crawling insects from entering a home is to have the property sprayed once a year. A general pest (spray) treatment targets the most common pests that people want to keep outdoors – spiders, cockroaches and ants, to name a few. If there’s a particular pest that’s causing problems, we can take a more targeted approach with one of our specialist pest control services.

Combining a general pest treatment with a termite inspection (which is recommended every year) is a convenient option that is popular with many of our customers. The best way to protect a home from termites is to have a termite management system installed, which affords a property a significant level of protection against subterranean termites, which can otherwise easily attack a home without being seen.

What Our Clients Say

Termite Inspections and Treatments in Box Hill

As Box Hill is a new suburb, created by clearing bushland, the risk of termite attack should be considered ‘high’. Having a professional termite inspection every year is a necessary precaution (recommended by government and building authorities) to check that termites have not gained access to the property without being detected. One of our trained inspectors will carefully check for signs of termite entry and will provide a comprehensive written report outlining the findings. The report will also include recommendations for ways to minimise the risk of termite entry.

Protecting a property is best achieved by having a termite treatment, which means installing a termite management system. Typically, the soil around and under the building will be treated with a termiticide, which forms a protective zone that termites will not want to cross. Termite baits are another highly effective option. While there is some upfront cost, having a termite management system installed significantly reduces the chance of termites damaging the home.

Key Pests in Box Hill

A warm climate together with plenty of rainy spells during the summer makes the soil in Box Hill ideal for termites. Spiders, ants and cockroaches are some of the other common pests we deal with, especially in the warmer half of the year when pests are most active. Cooler weather in autumn will see rats and mice heading indoors, which can escalate to a full infestation if not dealt with quickly.

Box Hill – Interesting facts

Box Hill has long been agricultural land, originally home to the Dharug Aboriginal Peoples of the Sydney hinterland, and later to European settlers. The area features several waterways and areas of bushland but recent development has significantly changed the face of the suburb.

The Sydney Metro Northwest line, which has serviced nearby Rouse Hill since 2019, has opened up the area. At 48km north-west of Sydney CBD, improved transport options mean that it is just over an hour’s journey into the city making it a viable commuter suburb. Box Hill’s first sports field, Brindle Parkway Reserve (pictured above), opened in June 2024.

Once home to a senior demographic, Box Hill now appeals to young families, professionals and first-home buyers. The population is predicted to grow from 1,000 residents back in 2014 to over 30,000 residents by 2035.

The suburb is believed to take its name from a group of box trees that once stood in the area. Some believe that it is named after the hunting boxes that were built on hilltops in the 19th century.
