Pest Control Services in Schofields

Our Serial Pest Control technicians are fully licensed and equipped to provide a comprehensive range of pest control services in Schofields, including:

Whilst we offer a whole range of pest control services, our most popular service is a general pest treatment, sometimes called a ‘spider spray’. This spray treatment targets the common crawling pests that people want to keep out e.g. ants, cockroaches and spiders. Having a general pest treatment once a year is an easy and effective way to help stop pests from coming indoors.

People also ask us about the best way to keep their homes free from termites. It is recommended that every home is inspected for termites annually, as it is easy for termites to access a property without being seen. Scheduling a termite inspection at the same time as a general pest treatment is a good option and gives homeowners peace of mind.

If a particular pest is causing a problem, whether it’s a wasp nest in the garden or rodent activity in the roof, we are experts at diagnosing pest problems. We offer a number of solutions that target specific pests, which can be tailored to suit your specific situation.

Serial Pest Control also provide professional pest control services to businesses and organisations in Schofields, such as schools, care facilities, offices and manufacturing operations.

What Our Clients Say

Key Pests in Schofields

Being an urban location, Schofields is home to the common city pests – rodents, ants, cockroaches, fleas, and more. The warm climate creates ideal conditions for a whole range of insects, particularly termites. Warm, moist soil is just right for tunnelling and nest building, which is why homeowners in Schofields should always consider termites the number one pest of concern.

In the height of summer, it can feel like insects are everywhere, with ants seeking out sweet sugary foods (from tabletops or rubbish bins) and spiders scuttling across walls and floors. Whilst many spiders are harmless, several species found in Sydney are highly venomous, so care should always be taken in outdoors areas in late spring and summer. Cockroaches are a year-round pest, with quick breeding rates making them challenging to control. Thankfully our professional-grade products can quickly get a cockroach problem under control. Rodents are the pest to watch out for in autumn, as they will come inside looking for a warm, cosy spot to nest for the winter.

Termite Inspections and Treatments in Schofields

Termites can cause a significant amount of damage to a home as they can attack structural timber as well as floorboards, skirting boards and architraves. Anything made from wood is fair game! Having a professional termite inspection every year is the minimum level of protection that homeowners should provide for their property. A professional termite inspection will identify potential areas of termite entry as well as looking carefully for signs that termites may be present. If the house is under termite attack, our professional termite treatments will guarantee elimination and provide long-term protection.

A termite management system offers the very highest level of protection for a property. One option is a baiting system, which involves placing bait stations around the perimeter of the property at regularly spaced intervals. This is a good option for many homes, particularly those on tricky sites that are elevated or sloped. A liquid soil treatment is another type of management system, which involves applying termiticide to the soil around the property, creating a treated zone or “barrier” to keep the termites away from the building.

Having a termite management system in place, which is checked annually by one of our professional inspectors, is the gold standard in termite prevention for homeowners. As termite damage is not covered by standard home insurance policies, it is the best way to minimise the risk of termite attack, protecting your most valuable asset.

Schofields – Interesting Facts

Historical Significance: Schofields takes its name from the European settler John Schofield. In 1845 he purchased land in the area but after falling on hard times voyaged to the gold fields of California. After acquiring gold, he returned to NSW and bought more land at Marsden Park in 1849. The Darug tribe are the traditional custodians of the land.

Parks and Outdoor Spaces: Schofields Park on Station Street is home to the town’s local sports clubs. Altrove Hilltop Park with its playground and facilities is popular with young families.

Local Attractions: Aurora Park on Beacon Drive is one of the best place to see the sun rise in Schofields area. Schofields was for many years home to a RAAF military base and aerodrome, which was used for car racing and as a movie location, amongst other aviation purposes.

Educational Institutions: Schofields Public School was officially opened on its current site in 1923 and has grown to accommodate nearly 800 students today.

Transport Connections: Schofields has had a train station since 1870. The site of the station was moved (somewhat controversially) in 2011, when a new station was built. The suburb is connected to the city via the T1 Western and T5 Cumberland lines.
